A very simple and easy-to-make appetizer recipe, Middle Eastern Teskeya, Chickpea Feta with tahini or what is usually called Teskeya is a very popular and conventional Middle Eastern dish that is found on every middle eastern table in different meals.
Middle Eastern Teskeya, Yorgurt and Tahini with ground meat
This dish doesn't need more than a few ingredients; all you have to do is to follow the simple instructions; and here you go!
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds of chickpeas
- 1/2 Pound of ground meat
- 1 1/3 pound Pounds of yogurt
- 1 cup of tahini
- 3 pieces the juice of three lemons
- 1 bunch of parsley
- 4 loaves of toasted bread
- 2 tablespoons of ghee or butter
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
Instructions
- Soak the chickepeas in warm water for an overnight
- Cut the bread; then fry; then pat it dry with paper towels and set it aside in a large bowl
- In a separate large bowl, pour in two and half cups of yogurt; then add in the cup of flour with the tahini
- Add in the salt and the lemon juice and mix very well
- Add in the yogurt and tahini and mix very well with the toasted bread
- Add the meat to the mixture of tahini and yogurt as well as the toasted bread
- Top with the chopped parsley; then add 1 pinch of cumin, the paprika, the sumac and the ground black pepper; you can add a spoonful of margarine
- Top your dish with toasted nuts
- Serve and enjoy your delicious Chickpea Feta!
