Ingredients
  

For the dough

  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1/2 Cup of oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 Cup of flour

For the syrup

  • 2 Cups of sugar
  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1 Tablesppoon of honey

Instructions
 

For the dough:

  • Combine the eggs with the water, the yeast and the oil.
  • Gradually incorporate the flour until you get smooth dough.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  • Cut the dough into very, very thin strips about 6 cm wide by 20 cm length
  • Fry each strip of dough by wrapping it around a fork as your dough is fried and using the second tool to wrap it around itself.
  • Repeat the same process with the remaining dough

For the syrup

  • Combine the ingredients for the syrup in a small saucepan
  • Let the syrup boil for about 10 to 15 minutes to obtain a thick syrup then pour it over the cooked pastry athan elkathi
  • Sprinkle sesame on top
  • Serve and enjoy your pastry dessert!
